Understanding Your Child’s Account

Save money and make your child’s foodservice account work for you! Visit our page about mealpayplus to learn how!

Put monies on your child's account before 8/21/09 and receive a discount!

Cash transactions at the register are time consuming, sometimes overwhelming, and decrease the amount of time that your child has to eat.  Monies on account allow for a single debit purchase, enhancing and improving your child's dining experience.

All online deposits for children's accounts placed using MealpayPlus by 8/21/09 will receive a 10% credit (5.25% account credit 4.75% processing fee credit). For example, for each $20.00 placed on account, $20.95 will be charged to your credit card ($20.00 + .95 (4.75% processing fee) = $20.95). The Food Services Program will credit your child’s account $2.00 resulting in a total deposit of $22.00 to your child’s account. To qualify for this discount you must use our online payment system, MealpayPlus, at www.mealpayplus.com to make prepayments.

We will also be accepting payments in the form of check or money order made out to Meriden Public Schools Cafeteria Fund and should include your child’s student identification number. All payments mailed to the Food Service Department at 22 Liberty Street Meriden, CT 06450 and postmarked by 8/21/09 will receive a 5% incentive!

Make sure your child is buying lunch with their monies on account!

Using MealpayPlus you may now lookup student histories (up to 30 calendar days at a time) at no charge!

Log-in at www.mealpayplus.com at no cost to check student’s meal account balances and monitor the food items your student purchases at school.

Create settings at no cost to automatically receive a notification email when the balance on your student’s account is low. There is no cost to create an account, set up low balance email notifications or lookup purchase history and account balances!

If you are concerned about how your child is spending their monies on account, the account can be limited to ensure that only a breakfast or lunch can be purchased. Before you formally request this limitation be placed on your child’s account, please note the following:
•      Nothing besides a breakfast or a lunch will be able to be purchased on account if this block is placed on the account. This means your will not be able to purchase a water, milk, juice or fruit unless they are paying in cash. It is not possible to block only some items.
Please fill out this: Parent request to block or remove a block from an account and return it to our office at 22 Liberty Street if you would like a block put on or removed from your child(ren)'s account.
